The Rotterdam Student Orchestra was founded in 2011 by a group of enthusiastic students from the Erasmus University Rotterdam. Even though there was already a big orchestra that welcomed students (Rotterdam Youth Symphony Orchestra, RJSO), the average age of members was quite young. To change that, the RJSO and the newly founded RSO collaborated with the Erasmus University to officially give birth on the 13th of February 2012 to a wonderful orchestra full of ambitious and passionate members.
Right now the RSO had grown into an orchestra with around 45 members from Rotterdam and other cities. International students are also welcome to play along one or more season(s).
